Since the West Coast of America, San Francisco to be exact, lived up to my expectations, I was sure the Canadian side of the border would do the same. And it did! A true Montrealer, I don’t think that I could ever relocate to Vancouver, but a visit was just the vacation I needed. Discover why British Colombia refers to itself as “the best place on earth”.
I would never have thought that in all my travels so far, a beautiful area just 4.5 hours from my house would be a place I would long to visit again and again. A little off the beaten path, about two hours east of Quebec City, you’ll find one of my favorite places on the planet. Beluga whales, delicious cuisine, stunning fjords, and emerald green pastures are but a few things that make me dream of the Charlevoix region.
We left at 9:30 am to head out towards the Eastern Townships for the day. It took about an hour to do the pick-ups, coffee run and general organization before we could get onto the highway. The Champlain Bridge was packed with people trying to get out of the city. It was the construction, however, that really slowed the drive.
